How to install a M41? 140-160

I would use 3rd 4th and OD. I currently use 2nd-4th but the spread between 2 and 3 is huge and I'm well past power peak in 4th. It has worked for others but I'm unsure if reliability issues may outweigh performance gains. What ring and pinion did you use when you tried it?
