su needles 120-130

George .... When Sil and I reinstalled the newly rebuilt HS6s on Ole Reliable, the needles had been replaced with a new set of stock... from the factory needles. The car has a 2" magnaflow exhaust ... B20F and the Street Torque cam ...030 overbore, 9.5 to 1 compression, I think ... and it just would not pull or rev .... we tried adjusting and balancing but just could not get the engine to really work, until we rescued the needles and jets that had been in the carbs before the rebuild. I THINK they are a set of DX needles and jets .... The motor immediately woke up, although I can't help but think that there is more to be gained but don't have other sets of needles to try at this point... I still get the feeling that the motor is running lean at the top end... and wouldn't know what letter designation might fatten the mixture where it is needed . All I know is that it just wouldn't pull and rev with the needles put in by the rebuilder like it does with the DX set.

My .02 Canadian cents worth
