PCV freezing?!? S90-V90

Hello, I never see temps like that any more, but living in Alaska for 2 years, after living in Maine for 13 years was enough for me. I think you have two problems. 1 blow-by 2 drain back to the oil pan is partialy blocked. That is at the very bottom of the crank case breather (the black box) mounted under 2 and 3 intake runners. There is a short hose conn. to block it is not open all the way and allowing water to collect and be sent back to the intake as water vapor I see it more on the 850's, but it happens to the 960's as well, just not as often. As the car warms up it will evap and not be a problem, but in the morning it settles again in the bottom. Take the oil cap off while the engine is running ( may affect idle a bit) is the pressure enough to blow out at your hand, or when you put your hand over the hole do you feel a little suction. If its the first. You have blow-by. Thats bad. Your rings are not holding enough compression in the cylinder, which is causing your problem. I can't think of anything that would cause that much vapor to cause freezing in the throttle body. Try the flap cloesd all the way, so you get all warm air all the time. If its that cold it won't be warm enough to destroy the amm. Pauli
