Thanks to Bob an all others who helped. I think I have it mostly solved. Problem was I didn't realize that the compressor was still running when the noise of the clutch engaging stopped after a couple of seconds. I thought that, when the noise stopped, the compressor wasn't working. Foolish, I know, as all you need do is watch the pulley and you'll see what's happening. Got it charged up to the "blue area" on the Autozone guage (# is about 45). It doesn't blow very cold, so I'll have to check the charge level some more. Thanks again to all who helped. jim
