Something else to try at the ECU 200 1988

Randy,

We are running out of the usual suspects here ;-)

Fuel pressure was good. The ECU checked good. ECT checked OK. Injector firing circuit checked good. AMM checked out. Strong spark.

So what doesn't check good? Compression is low. Timing belt was off one tooth. AMM disconnected made no difference (it should have, why didn't it?).

I don't think the low and uneven compression would keep it from firing. Maybe it would but I don't think so.

It might pay to put a timing light on #1 while cranking to see if spark is actually occuring near TDC. But that is a long shot too.

Did you check the TPS? Does your car have an idle position switch or just a potentiometer? Either way, does it check OK?

Possible bad ground?

I am really interested to know what is keeping this engine from running.
