You and me both (grin)!
Throttle position switch seems right and checked out during the pin out test.
I pulled the injectors and they do not leak when I force run the pumps. They seem to pulse as they should while cranking the engine over.
I am going to go ahead and swap out the AMM tomorrow if I get a chance just to be sure of that component.
I am back to thinking the valve timing may be off. I did a quick check and set the crank at TDC on the compression stroke by using the marks on the vibration dampner and belt cover. I double checked by using a probe on #1 piston while rocking the crank and I think it was correct. That is when I found the distributor and cam off one notch.
After pulling the injectors and seeing that they seemed to be OK I reinstalled them but left them unpluged. The car had been sitting without trying to start it all day. I sprayed starting fluid into the intake and cranked it over with no results. That seems strange to me as the injectors were not connected so I was not flooding the cylinders with fuel, just enough starting fluid that a normal engine would have started and run for a moment.
I think I have to remove the timing belt and make sure the marks are aligned correctly. It will be a process of elimination.
Unfortunately my work will be taking me away for over a week so I will not have a chance to look into it any further for awhile. It is a stumper for sure.
Thanks for your interest.
