Cold start 200 1988

Hi Art,

Thanks for checking in on this.

The plug wires are in the correct order. It is raining here today (finally) and I haven't been able to get at the car which is still outside because I was sure I would be able to get it started and drive into the work area, cocky attitude but not as cocky as my first inclination which was to drive the 60 miles to the car and get it running and drive it home (glad I had the trailer along).

As I indicated I will swap out the AMM just for verification and also check what pin four is doing during and after cranking.

I agree with you that since the pin out test did not throw any flags and the ether shot got no results I need to look elsewhere.

Because it is a red block and since the compression test was a "wet" one I think the rings will be OK and the poor compression is due to the valves or headgasket.

When I get the chance I will see what is up with the valve and ignition timing and repost with results (probably the third week in July!)

Randy
