how would I know if my fuel was boiling? 120-130

Thanks guys. My fuel is not boiling, nor is my engine compartment unreasonably hot. I just keep losing fuel and getting very poor mileage when I ought not to be. I only have one phenolic spacer and I'm always wondering if I'd see any performance or fuel economy increase if I picked up a second one.
