This really sounds like there's something else wrong if you've got good spark.
Two things, when it doesn't start, what do the plugs look like afterwards? Wet plugs suggest problems with fuel delivery. What does the battery current draw read when sitting after 10 hrs? i.e. ammeter hooked up without trying to start the car. Sounds like battery drain could be a problem (too)
