Ah, that makes sense. I think you explained it to me when I bought the car, but that was back in 2005 and I had forgotten.

There was no spare resistor on the box when I removed it from the 1800E - although I may not have recognized it.

I picked up a spare ECU some time back. I forget what year - maybe 1970... I've never had a chance to hook it up, but if the modified ECU gives me grief, I'll give the spare a try.
