Hi Dan,

Now what about the ECU reset - pulling power resets the adaptation, but using the code reset function, the adaptation stays the same and just the codes are erased?

That sounds like something I said. Or guessed at. I don't know whether any adaptive adjustments are kept through the OBD reset, but I do know the ECU will not retain them after you interrupt its power at fuse 6 (1991). Of course both actions serve to clear the trouble codes.
