Thanks again, Phil, for the response.
I am, at heart, a 240 man as well. This Regina system has thrown me off.
Anyways, I will check the FPR for vacuum tonight. The hose leading to it is in fine shape and has good vacuum.
Yes, when I checked the timing, it sat right at 12btdc at idle, then jumped way off to the left when revved, just like it should.
I'm starting to wonder about it being low fuel pressure that causes the problem: since it idles fine (needing less volume) and revs alright when not moving (also less volume) but has huge issues when under load of DRIVING (more volume), I'm starting to think it could be either that the pump is weak or the FPR is toast and is stuck open, albeit partially open.
If money was not an issue, I'd just buy a new fuel pump, FPR, ignition coil, and ECU and be done with it. However, I'd rather not spend that kind of money blindly.
I'll spend some more time on it tonight and post back. What an odd/elusive issue this has been to diagnose!
thanks again,
Nate
