bosch electronic ignition in 142 problem 140-160

I don't remember all the wire color codes but it sounds like you are getting there. With the 2 terminals on the starter you have everything you need. The B Resistor is easy to check...basically voltage drop from one side to the other 12-14V in and 8-10V out. The timing is a one off also easy....but you may need to rotate 180 deg or recheck the order of your spark wires...it is amazing how many times I've seen guys trouble shoot for days only to find they messed up the firing order of the plug wires. good luck, you are almost there...and when you get there you will be very pleased. BTW look into your coil....I'm not sure what the input voltages are for the later coils ...but if you have the part # you can look it up. If it's a 12v coil it will perform pretty lousy with 8-10v.
