hard to start when engine is cold 140-160 1968

well I adjusted the valves (or tried to) for the second time using the method outlined on VClassics.com, and it seems like I screwed it up, because it really makes a lot of noise now. I have a B20b engine with an F Head and I've set the clearance to .020, not the .016 outlined for the A,E, and F blocks. I'm pretty sure that's where I had them set before because I backed off almost every one. I think maybe I should have made the adjustment when the engine was warm! Haven't gotten around to checking the coil (this may happen tomorrow)
