The battery on my 240 sedan, auto 1990 died while driving. The car stopped and there was not enough juice to get it started. It started with a jump. The alternator belts and battery terminals are tight and clean. The battery and charging system checked out fine about a month ago, The alternator is original; the voltage regulator is about 6 years old; the battery is 2 years old.
I did not see the charge warning light illuminate with the jumper cables still connected to the 2nd car. The ignition on the Volvo was on but I intentionally did not have the engine running. Other lights like the check engine were illuminated.
Is this a fuse problem or do I need to replace the lamp in the warning light. If the latter, what bulb is needed and can I get it at the local auto supply?
Thanks in advance.
