crank position sensor 700 1991

Thanks.

I ran the sensor test via the ECU with pin at connector 6, and got no reading (no code) for the crank sensor (sensor is supposed to be 6 months old)
I replaced the sensor with the old one which likely was intermittent, and again got no reading.
I know for a fact I was testing fine on the wekeend, but it was before I replaced it (i.e. before I touched it).

The conenctor was sprayed, I pulled back the boot on it, it looks A1.

so... 2 of 2.
Well, I am going to buy a new one and cross my fingers.

could this be an ECU failure?
