U-joint proper fitting in the front yoke 120-130

It is, unfortunately, totally possible to bend the yoke. Especially on those small yoke driveshafts which I assume is what you are working with. Please don't ask me how I know this.

In fact, it was my first thought.

It sounds to me though, like the bend is not much, and if you can determine which side is bent, and by approximately how much (won't be easy, you're likely talking just a few thousandths of an inch), some creative hammering can probably bring it back to straight enough to get the circlip in.

If it is bent though, and you don't get it perfect, you can expect shortened U-joint lifespan...
