Did not open the transmission at all.
Just slide it around under the car.
It didn't occur to me that I could put the shift lever in wrong. Will go see if there is any other way I can insert it. That would make the most sense.
Haven't been violent or forceful with it either, so hopefully didn't break anything.
That had been a goal- no busted anything- knuckles especially!
Will report back.
