Was positive I had put it in fourth, per advice earlier, so I could rotate the splines while fitting.
That worked great.
And it is only because of the knob/lever position that I think it's in third, as the position is high and to the right, which if its in wrong, and the trans is in fourth, makes sense.
Will be getting looking at it tomorrow.
