Pulling a B20 out of a 140 140-160

If you have a helper, you can run a rope from inside the car, through the transmission shifter hole, around the tranny, and back out the shifter hole. Your helper in the car will pull up on both of the rope ends to take weight of the tranny. I like to use this for removing and installing an M41, now I can't press the weight alone anymore. That is a heavy tranny when you are under the car with only 18 inches clearance.

If I am pulling the tranny, I always get the rear end jacked up as well, to allow clearance for working underneath, particularly around the center bearing support bracket installation.

Be safe under that car.
