123 Distributor install help - B20F

Well I hope I'm just an idiot and didn't realize what I was doing. I pulled the old dist. out with the rotor pointed at #1 wire and timing mark at 10btdc then put the new one in with the same rotor orientation. Does the rotor point at #1 wire during both the compression and exhaust stroke?
If so, that's likely the issue. Thank you!
