Re: problem with the brakes... 140-160 1972

Thanks guys for taking you time to help me. Jones, that answer must have taken a while to write... great info, VERY helpful. Tonight I have checked the booster and it seemed all right. Then I began to clean away all the rust that was in the way of the pads, almost blocking them. It was clear that this must have been a big part of the problem, I could tell it right away when I discovered how much there was in the way of the pads. One of the cylinders in the back was stuck too, I had no idea about that one. Some clever use of a crowbar mad it work fine, a cheap solution! Anyway, when I took the car for a test drive I couldnīt belive how good the brakes felt!!! What a sports car! Hehe... I canīt belive I actually drove around with the brakes in the condition that they were, I am too used to the old crappy duo-servo units of my old daily driver for 6 years, a PV 544. (The 544 is awaiting restoration right now.)

It feels a bit safer to have good brakes now, īcause the horrible north swedish winter is here in a short while!
