timing question-no compression B234F 700 1990

Thanks for the POSITIVE posts guys. I'm talked to the shop that did the head for me. He said (a former Volvo Mech) that it is likely that valves were bent, but to take off belts, balance and timing, remve crankshaft pulley and timing belt gear on the crank and check to see if the key on the gear sheared off. It had been a while since he worked at Volvo and he couldn't remember off the top of his head but he did mention it was bad luck more then anything that the bolt would loosen. He probably was just being kind.

Anyway later today I'll check the front belts, and if I can't make it work, off with it's head!!

thanks
jc
