Sorry for the blank message...

My '90 had similar symptoms. It turned out to be the RPM sensor, also known as the crank position sensor. When they go bad, they work intermittantly. Heat is a big factor - no hot start, but starts fine after cool down.

For some reason, it doesn't seem to set an error code. It's a real pain to diagnose.

Check the fuse and relay first.

A new crank position sensor is less than $30 from FCP Groton (www.fcpgroton.com). The sensor lives on top of the bell housing, right where it meets the engine. You can see it from the exhaust side, looking between the engine and firewall - you'll need a flashlight. It looks impossible to get a wrench on it, but a U-joint socket and 12" extension will do the trick.
