Sounds to me like it could be the OD relay. I have just battled the gremlins in mine. My symptoms were that the orange upshift arrow would come on in the dash, and overdrive could not be engaged. It would not respond to the button on the shift lever. I resoldered it two or three times, to no avail. Finally replaced the relay for $40 and the problem is fixed.
