122 Charging Issues 120-130 1967

MY 122 had many of the same problems ..... the Alternator drive belt has to be much tighter than you would imagine .... and will slip dropping your voltage .... I solved the problem by adding approximately 1 inch to the top adjustment bar .... my voltmeter also drops like a rock when the brakes are applied .... thought it might be something to do with the third brake light that was installed but can find nothing .... brakelights work fine and the voltage returns to normal 14+ volts and drops back when the battery is charged. BTW switching back to the generator is NOT a viable option ... unless you like to drive at night with a couple of fireflys for headlights.
