Advancing timing for more power--- anybody have any advice? More power = more engine wear?

If you've got the B230, it responds VERY well to advancing the timing, but you have to back it off due to pinging. (detonation...bad) You can go with 91 octane, but just keep this in mind, it can still ping and you won't be able to hear it... make sure you have it backed off sufficiently...

Or you can do what I did on my 82 245 /b21... rip out ALL the interior except for the dash and front seats, lose the washer pump/res, cruise caontrolpower steering pump and the AC AND the blower, remove muffler heatsheilds and run a cherry bomb to a straight pipe... basically if the car needs it to run and you need it to save your ass, keep it, the rest is gone...

It haulsass now... for a wagon!
