Engine Troubles

I'd agree with Pete on where to start looking - but respectfully, I've experienced blown headgaskets in both B18 and B20 engines and I wouldn't rule this out as a possibility.

I'd check the coolant for oil contamination (blobs of oil floating around), and the oil for coolant (if it looks like frothy chocolate milk, presto).

What kind of noise did you hear exactly?
