Basically what happens when the remote servo starts leaking is that the fluid goes from the master cylinder into the servo vacuum chamber, The engine then sucks it in from there. Brake fluid burns white.
I'd temporarily block off the servo vacuum hose twixt servo and manifold and see how the engine runs. Be careful, blown servos can lead to no brakes, to big dry cleaning bills and worse.
The engine runs badly because it doesn't like brake fluid as fuel, and because if that is what's wrong you've effectively got a big air leak into the manifold.
