What kind of fuel system??

My philosophy is:
There is plenty of oil apart from the Arabs. It is fit for lubrication and
motor fuel. Likewise greater reserves of coal than could be easily imagined.
Both can be made into great motor fuels and have lots of petrochemical
byproducts also. The main reason we have become dependent on the Arabs for
oil is that it has been cheaper over the years, as inflation has not affected
it as much as most other products. I'm not much of an economist but my guess
is that most things have inflated about 10 times since gas was 37 cents a
gallon. In much of the world, gasoline costs around $4 per gallon, which
is probably a valid inflated price in the US compared with most other goods
and services. (Not computers, which were pretty much unavailable at any price
with the capabilities that my 1997 computer has.)

Corn is for eating (people and animals both) and perhaps for drinking
(probably mostly people). It should not be wasted making something like
motor fuel. Although Phillips (through its subsidiary Provesta) did work
on petroleum-based food products (growing fungal cultures on the petroleum),
for the most part, petroleum is NOT edible and should be used for those uses
that come more naturally it its various groups of properties.
