Also -- don't think I'm anti-farmer. I lived in iowa and I
really liked it out there except for the temperate climate.

I also think it is actually pretty reasonable for a govenrment
to subsidize farmers; plenty of countries do it to preserve their
heritage, character of the country side and so on. I think one
of the greatest tragedies going on right now is the destruction
of the central valley of california's crop land to replace it
with houses. It is some of the most fertile and productive land
around and it is getting turned into tract housing. Of course,
I don't like that they drink all the water but what can you do?

Anyhow, I apologize for keeping going with this stuff. Some
things just get my goat...

Oh and on a 140-160 note:
after replacing the head on my 164 the car isn't pinging any
more so it was likely the completely blown manifold gasket causing
significant air leaks. The car isn't running great yet but I
haven't had time to adjust the valves and set the timing again.
