Well being that I do this work for a liveing, I wet sand 24hours after painting.
But I would let the paint harden for one month. The intergrated paint is very hard paint when dry, so 2000 grit will take a long time to cut,what I should of said,was that the ruffer the sand paper,the deeper the sanding marks the more paint that will need to be sanded,to get a smooth finish,mayby 1500 grit than 2000 to do the sanding,after sanding the paint will look dull this is normal. The 3M fine cut is a good compound, when it starts to dry out, while buffing sprits alittle water to keep wet.
For buffing: I use a wool pad(MAKITA)to compound, and(SCHLEGEL)#1 to polish. I compound at 1300RPM,and polish at 1000RPM moving the buffer very slow so the buff pad has a chance to do its job. Polishing I move the buff pad fast front to rear.
No, im going to keep the wing flat blk to accent the bumpers and all the blk trim.
