What is the best way to deal with a broken head bolt? The head is off and about 1/2 inch of the bolt protrudes from the block. A guy I know at a machine shop/parts place will remove it for me, but I'd kind of like to do it myself for a couple of reasons. Do I first keep penetrating oil on it for a few days and then work on it again, or would it be better to have the guy at the machine shp have at it? I'd hate to have it break again so there's nothing to grip to try to turn it.
The engine is on a dolly on the floor of my garage.
Any advice will certainly be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
