Yes, Everything is true, You will have to cut out the old/new strip to remove the glass and there is no special tool that I know of for the trim, it does have to be installed already in the rubber strip before you put it on the glass. Fiberglass should do the trip to stop the leaks before putting in the new glass. Fix all the rust and sand the whole flange smooth, there is a rubber sealent you coat it with before you put in the new windshield. I never use any kind of sealent after the new glass is installed. You should not have to. Marc..
