'89 740 GL Cold Start Problem 700

i don't like that high voltage reading. check the wiring at the ecu and see if the the 8.5 is there, too. take the back of the ecu connector apart to stab it from there. too bad we can't get a breakout box on it. it goes between the ecu and it's harness with test ports for access. i'd like to check every power and ground at the ecu and the outputs. could be the internal resistor in the ecu is shot and the 5v can't be controlled. there's no chance your meter is bad? good luck, chuck.
