'89 740 GL Cold Start Problem 700

Chuck

I gave you some bad information on Saturday. Instead of reading the voltage on the ECT I was reading the voltage on the "front" sensor that I believe goes to the temperature gauge. My Volvo Service Manual Wiring Diagram 740 1989 shows a single sensor and uses the term Coolant temperature sensor which I now know is the ECT. I didn't realize there were 2 temperature sensors until I read about them in the FAQs.

Is there a way of removing the ECT connector without removing the manifold to access it? I tried to reach under the manifold to remove the ECT conector but was unable to do so. I could reach it but because of the awkward position unable to remove the connector to make the measurement.

Sorry about the bad information (8.43 volts) I gave you Saturday.

Wally
