65S with a J OD 1800

I did not make the swap and would likely shorten the shaft as I already have a "short" flange and the M41 is much longer than the M40. My installation is a 122s.

The J-type should be not only quieter than the D-type but able to handle much more torque.

Just because something was "gone-over" does not make it free from suspicion. Especially if something was difficult to replace and the professional judgement of the technician was that the part would be "OK."

Mike!
