Clutch cable vs. Hydraulic clutch

The only person that I know of with a hydraulic clutch with V8 swap in a 200 series is Adrian, I forget his userid. But his car is a 260, and I think it came with the hydraulic setup. The 240 pedal may need to be modified to work with the 260 clutch master cylinder. There was a thread on this recently on Turbobricks by Kenny/Captain Bondo.

I have been wanting to change the cable setup to hyd, because my clutch cables keep breaking. I also have a 245 w/ 5.0L and T5. I see that the master cylinders are not too much money. I haven't really tried to see what slave cylinders would work, or a possible hydraulic TOB.

For shielding, I have also thought about this, and I am probably going to try some of those reflective insulated tubes from Thermo-tec(?). I want to see if it will help keep resistance down. My breakage points are at the ends of the cable though, so I don't know if it will help that.

I did notice a problem at the pedal end of the clutch cable. When you press my clutch pedal down all the way, the cable end binds against the pedal arm, so the cable ends up bending. Do you have this problem?
