Clutch cable vs. Hydraulic clutch

That is exaclty what mine does...and I go through them fairly quickly as a result. I've got a high temp tube shield over the cable nearest the header, but I've never had a problem there. They all (3 in the last 2 1/2 years) have broken right where they bind against the pedal.
