I have an S70 T5 '98 I bought last year with 87K miles on it for just under $10K...I know I paid to much. It has not nickle and dimed me to death however at this point (but things can change, I know). The brakes I understand were new then. I've put 40K miles on it since then and it needs new brakes and new tires. The tires on it were the second set (from what I understand), so I'm putting the 3rd set on. So, really, besides oil and a tranny flush I've had very little go wrong with the car. I did have to replace a MAF sensor but that's it in regards to sensors (near $200) and recently had a torn cv boot I replaced...parts and all for about $100. I also serviced the pcv system and added new silicone vacuum and turbo hoses and upgrade the ECU as well as adding extra tough swaybars and endlinks and replaced the struts and shocks as I didn't like how the OEM were feeling. It's a fun car to drive! I put over 100 miles on it daily for my commute to work and would have no other car. It has been exceptionally reliable. I do my own maitenance on the weekends as weekdays I have no time to take it to a garage. I read info here and other boards and learned to do most everything myself (except big things) and buy my parts form online vendors for a fraction of what the dealer sells them for.
