Considering S70. Reliable? S70

I had an 82 ZX Turbo, and it was the best car to drive and work on of all I have owned. However, by 1993 it had about 130K miles on it, and several things were going. In addition, it was starting to show rust here and there. I HATED to do it, but I put it up for sale. I still miss the car, but I don't regret the decision. On the other hand, the only reason my 850 is going strong at 166K is that a fair amount of money was poured in regularly over the years. I put 130K on a Passat, and it was in much, much better condition than the Nissan at 130K (but only half as old). Of these cars the Passat was the only one I had since it was new. I think that has a lot to do with it. But think of all the money - between the sticker price of these cars and the maintenance. It is obscene. Klaus is right - get something like a four banger Japanese car. I had a few of those, and they just go and go without much care. Not much money required either.
