I would pull the plug wires one at a time(like Klaus suggested). You say it seems to be a "half" miss. Pull the wires from the distributor, less of a chance to get shocked. If you pull from the plug, you are holding a hot wire looking for a ground!
If you get the culprit, you should have a full miss. If you get one that is not the problem, you should have a full miss and a half. You should be able to find the cylinder.
If you do find it, try swapping the injector to another location and see if it follows the injector. I have even pulled injectors (not Volvo) and filled them with carb cleaner, attached an air hose with 40 psi and applied the proper voltage to see how they spray. I did this in front of a floresent light to see the pattern. It was easy to see which injectors were no good or weak. Be careful! Carb cleaner is flamable!
You have done a lot of good work trying to diagnois the problem, I hope you are succesful! I know how something like that can bug you.
