Car failed annula emission test 850 1995

for your PNP switch have you done the 'ratchet cleaning'? That sometimes eliminates the problem between 6 months and several years. To do this you just go from park down to L rapidly 20 or so times. That will clean the copper contacts which usually helps.

Is this the first time you've had to do the CV joints, if so congrats. I've had to do them twice (though I do have 70k more miles than you..) they are what they are...

Replacing these things suck (especially if its a good long drive to a shop and you don't have a garage to do your own work..) but most of them should get you 5-10 years. Also, I know it sucks putting 500-1000 into these cars in bunches but in my opinion they tend to outlast most of the cars you find out there. They do better if you consistently do routine maintenance. Keep your PCV system clean, (every year or two clean it out on the older cars if you can) it will significantly extend the amount of time before you have to replace seals...

The thing that keeps me putting money into this is that I can tell when the last time the parts were replaced. That gives me a realistic gauge on how long to expect till I have to do it again. Knowing I shouldn't have to do CV joints for 100k or so miles makes spending the $200 for the set that much easier.
