Car failed annula emission test 850 1995

Removed the plugs to check today and they all looked normal. All electrodes were dry. Only thing strange was that the first plug's threads (count from driver side) were wet -- smelless. The plug tip was dry. So what's the wet stuff on the threads, water? And where could it from?
