Well I am a guaranteed once former Volvo Master Tech and currently own my own pretty well equipped Indy shop and I have every confidence in my ability to fix you car. I have no idea what your local talent is like but I would like to think that if they are factory trained as I was that they should be able to handle it.
As far as driving it 125 miles to get to the local dealer you are risking burning up your catalytic converter. When your misfire is bad enough that it could possibly cause cat damage the check engine light is supposed to flash. But just because it is not flashing does not mean that you are not damaging the cat. If your local shop cannot fix it and the miss is that bad or bad enough to make the light flash you will have to weigh the cost of the long tow to the dealer versus replacing the cat.
Sorry we could not get this one fixed in your driveway, it would've been nice. At any rate, let me know how this one pans out.

Mark
