"Last night I took AMM out of my '83 245 w LH2.2 and Chrysler/Volvo ignition. '83 AMM has 6 wires in connector, '89 has 5, so I'm assuming they are diff and won't try swapping '83 AMM into '89 2.4 and EZK."
Correct, the '83-'84 LH 2.0 AMM (rare they say) doesn't swap with anything, that I know of.
The '85-'88 LH2.2 AMM (007) will work in place of the LH2.4 (016)
But the 016 can't be swapped for the older 007, because it doesn't have the adjustment potentiometer signal that the LH 2.2 ECU requires.
