I disconnected AMM and now it runs and revs "fine". As soon as I reconnect AMM it stops immediately. So disconnected, let it warm up for 15 mins, burn WD40 off exhaust manifold, I put 1/2 bottle of fuel injection cleaner into gas tank, exhaust seemed to blow out/ get less smokey, guages are working, check engine light is on. I drove it 50' and up on ramps to change oil and filter.
Last night I took AMM out of my '83 245 w LH2.2 and Chrysler/Volvo ignition. '83 AMM has 6 wires in connector, '89 has 5, so I'm assuming they are diff and won't try swapping '83 AMM into '89 2.4 and EZK.
By reading some other threads here on BB I should be able to find/purchase correct AMM at FCP Groton.com
I'll check VM readings as you say, and get back to you.
Thanks, Steve
