B230FT not starting.

I just finished the head replacement as well as t-belt etc. Now the engine turns over, almost starts with started fluid but won't stay going. There is spark on each plug. There is fuel in the fuel rail fuel pumps sound like they start. I thought it might be bad gas or I installed the t-belt a tooth off. However it wouldn't start with starter fluid so maybe it is both. This weekend I will check the t-belt. What do I do to rule out bad gas? What are the symptoms of the timing belt being off?
