Paul,
How can a dummy like me determine if a Manifold Pressure Sensor is working or not? My B30F is flooding out at idle or full throttle, in fact it runs for about 30 seconds after initial start.
Could I just disconnect the vacuum line at the manifold? Or do I need to find a voltmeter or some other electric gizmo which I know nothing about? If I unplug the MPS, will the car default to a lean mixture?
I don't like trying to start the car because of all of the gasoline washing down the cylinder walls and winding up in the oil. The last oil change had about 2 or 3 quarts of gas in it, after numerous attempts to keep it running.
I really liked the MPS article, but I will NOT tear my sensor apart unless it is already dead! I did learn a lot.
Thanks,
Klaus
