Good morning from the cold part of the world. Yes, I do have an ohm meter but I have never used it. A birthday present with a billion pages of instructions written by an engineer for use by someone with a PhD in EE. Someday...
I will not use my hand held drill to take the resin off my MPS, yet. I need to wait until it gets warmer in the garage, my wife balked at the idea of doing work on the kitchen table. I wonder why?
I did find a little problem which may, or not, be something. The velocity stack on this B30F has 2 nipples, one on each side. The engine side had a small vacuum tube which was cut off about 5inches from the stack. I had assumed it belonged to the PCV which is no longer present -- all pollution control devices are gone, including air pump.
The other nipple had a rubber cap which now has developed a hole, rather large. So I put electrical tape on it. This could be large enough to affect the manifold pressure. I was going to start the car today, but it is +14F and the 25mph breeze is from the north, which means that all of the fumes from the exhaust will stay in the garage. Perhaps tomorrow.
The water temp sensor is new. I replaced the original last Oct/Nov just because the old one looked bad. The new one appeared to work, but because the car never gets warm these days, it is hard to measure efffetiveness.
This tinkering is fun, but rather frustrating. I offered Cynthia Amendt the use of my car, she needs to have an automatic, but if it doesn't run...
